We are currently searching for a Application Development Engineer to join our team in Annapolis, MD (IMS INC) (5010). Our Avionics team advances aviation electronics and information management solutions for commercial and military customers across the world. Job Summary

Applies a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the construction, analysis, or management of software. Uses independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities the majority of the time under general supervision.

Job Responsibilities

* Expand knowledge: Product domain, Requirements, Design, Development, Test and Release software processes, tools, methods and coding best practices. A primary emphasis on taking technical ownership multiple components within a system.

* Understands major RC processes related to software development and can apply them to current project.

* Design, code, test, integrate, and document software of moderate complexity. Capable of building software for simulation and target hardware environments.

* Contribute to software engineering requirements capture and analysis in area of domain expertise.

* Participate in cross-functional team efforts in definition, integration, verification, and validation of products and sub-systems of moderate complexity.

* Capable to producing engineering estimates for individuals tasks. May contribute to Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and Bid proposals and/or lead a software team in a Project Engineering role.

* Able to identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues and some systems issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.

* Escalates and articulates/summarizes encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.

* Individual job duties may vary.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
