If you think you have what it takes, apply for our full time Aviation Systems Engineering Support Specialist opportunity at our headquarters in Kansas City. Garmin Systems Engineering Support Specialists partner with systems and programs engineers to coordinate technical issue troubleshooting, lead the generation and maintenance of select technical system documentation, and are responsible for integrated flight deck software loading and test execution. Other essential functions include:

* Lead the generation and maintenance of select technical documentation, LRU library, and data packages.

* Independently research, analyze and prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) responses to complex integrated avionics systems.

* Define format and create usable data by analyzing data logged during flights and preparing in clear and concise manner.

* Lead technical issue troubleshooting, including conducting software loading, testing and troubleshooting on integrated system test benches. Proactively engage and coordinate appropriate company resource to resolve issues.

* Perform a wide variety of nonstandard complex tasks associated with avionic system analysis, research, test preparation and evaluation.

* Position requires the format definition and development of relevant, clear records, logs and analytical data.

* Assist with maintenance of scalable documentation / data packages as outlined below

• Serve as main point of contact for making / modifying drawings (ECOs)

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in the aviation industry OR a minimum of 5 years work experience performing a substantially similar role. Other requirements include:

* Proficiency using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

* Demonstrates proficient understanding of electrical engineering theories and concepts

* Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

* Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or another substantially similar electronics or technical field and pilot’s license are highly preferred!
