Job Role:
The Avionics
Technician performs maintenance on aircraft avionics components and
electrical systems components, such as airborne navigation/communication
systems, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems and accessories in
accordance with MFG specifications and FAA guidelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works from aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, oral and written instructions to perform job duties for building and installation purposes.
Installation & trouble shooting of Garmin glass cockpit
Installation & trouble shooting of various avionics, navigation, & communication system.
Installation & troubleshooting of autopilot system.
Performs the functional testing required to isolate a customer complaint in a particular avionics system and repairing that aircraft system in accordance with FAA procedures.
Troubleshoots problems to defective units or wiring discrepancies.
Replaces defective units, repairs wiring and modifies aircraft as required.
As required, accompanies pilot in flight to functional test repaired systems and/or aligned systems.
Responsible only for own work.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Current NCATT AET
Certificate and/or Airframe & Powerplant License preferred 1+ year experience of
avionics system installation, troubleshooting and repair. Experience on Bell
helicopters 206 and/or 407 is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read
blueprints and schematics. Demonstrable ability to
navigate, interpret, and apply tech data Multi-disciplinarian Training development
(Set-up sheets/Video-based/Standard Work) Ability to work in a
team-based environment and relay knowledge and training to others Strong oral and written
communication skills Ability to make
critical decisions and problem solve
