Position at Gogo Business Aviation

The Gogo Business Aviation Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting build and testing of systems, subsystems, cables, and printed circuit assemblies. This position will assist in the assembly of prototype systems, cables, subsystems, and test apparatus. Thorough knowledge of complex hardware and component level troubleshooting.

How will you make a difference?

* Support prototype cable/harness design, build and testing for other departments including FA, production, and customer support as required
* Debug hardware test failures to subsystem/component level and provide report to engineering team
* Conduct testing on prototype systems, subsystems, cables and Printed Circuit Assemblies
* Support board bring-up, debug and testing of prototype electrical hardware
* Assist in system level testing and/or qualification/certification testing
* Support the hardware development effort from early development to release of product, including:

- Specification & Design reviews
- Fixture/harness design/planning
- Test and support for FAA qualification (DO-160)
- Support development of test tools and methodologies for in-house and contract manufacturing operations
- System Integration and interconnect planning and suppor

Qualifications

* Associates Degree in Electronics Technology/Engineering or similar or equivalent work experience
* 1+ years of hardware system experience
* 2+ years of hardware and/or engineering support experience

Skills, Experience and Talents

* General familiarity with hardware including the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot hardware problems or issues
* Industry experience in wired telecommunications and VoIP/SIP a plus
* Industry experience in motherboard high speed interfaces a plus
* Familiarity with Linux and windows operating system environments a plus
* Avionics industry, DO-160, or MIL-STD design experience a plus
* IPC Soldering certification a plus
