F-35 WIPT Gun System Engineer/Subject Matter Expert. This senior technical analyst, as a member of the Weapons Integration Product Team (WIPT), supports F-35 Gun IPT as the subject matter expert. This position is located at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Essential Job Functions:

Monitor and evaluate the gun qualification test phases, monitor sub-contract efforts with General Dynamics, and their Danish supplier TERMA, initiate other partner participations (e.g., Otto Melaro in Italy) and develop acquisition strategies for new multi-purpose ammunition.

Key supporter of fact finding activities including analysis, determination and estimation of effectiveness, gun reliability, system weights, performance requirements. Act as the F-35 representative responsible for identifying 25mm combat ammunition candidates for the F-35.

Lead for developing an OSD Foreign Comparative Test initiative for evaluation of ammunition candidates. Tasks involve coordination with OSD, SAF/AQ, HQ/ACC, ACC(Eglin), Hill AFB, General Dynamics (GDATP) in the development of schedules, cost estimates, risk analysis and performance parameters.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

High school diploma plus 20 years of relevant experience required. Will also consider an Associates degree plus 14 years, a Bachelors degree plus 12 years relevant experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain program security clearances.

Relative, practical experience in weapons test, weapons acquisition, weapons effectiveness. Experience must be at the subject matter expert level.

Travel, including international travel, will be required.
