Position Description

The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for designing and development of assembly product/processes to ensure product and processes meeting customer quality requirements under the supervision and direction of the Head of Engineering and Quality Manager.
Position Requirements

Essential Functions
•Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process.
•Develops documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures.
•Refines and enhances processes using continuance improvement and lean manufacturing.
•Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, labor standards, and material cost.
•Develops tooling and fixture for existing and new products and processes. Works with vendors.
•Evaluate and prepares capital equipment investment justifications.
•Assures product and process quality by design testing methods, testing finished products and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements.
•Determines root cause of failures using statistical methods resulting in design change, and/or process methods.
•Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
•Maintain testing equipment.
•Perform material testing.
•Ensure projects are completed on time.
•Ensure financial budgets are followed.
•Research and purchase new manufacturing technology.
•Adheres to company policies and practices.
•Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an office environment.
Physical Demands

The employee is required to walk, stand, kneel, carry, straight pulling, push, reach above shoulders, and repeat bending. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Manual dexterity required.

Required Education and Experience
•BS in Material Science, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
•Microsoft Office
•Engineering software
•3-5 years’ work experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Aerospace experience preferred.
