Job Role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager, to manage a growing production and maintenance servicing the commercial aviation sector.
The successful candidate must have a proven track record in managing a large manufacturing/production process preferably within a similar environment.
Key responsibilities - these are descriptive of the key elements of the role but are not an exhaustive list
Day to day management of
- EASA Part 21 manufacture of seat covers, and curtains.
- Fabric lamination operation
- Dry cleaning of aircraft soft furnishings
- Presently a small EASA Part 145 maintenance facility
- Design and development
Other roles
- Control of staff costs
- Accident and incident investigation
- Disciplinary investigation
- Produce weekly reports on productivity / staff costs
- Constant review of procedures
- Customer liaison
- Form 4 holder
Key skills/experience/qualifications – these identify the necessary competencies to carry out the role
Essential skills
- An established background in managing a large scale manufacturing / production operation.
- Ability to produce written reports to Director level.
- Proven experience of managing a large multi skilled workforce.
- IT literate in word, Excel, powerpoint
Desirable skills
- Knowledge and understanding of aviation regulatory bodies and requirements, eg.EASA, CAA, DFT
- Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems
- Lean manufacturing understanding
