Job Description
Morson are currently seeking a Production Scheduler/Controller to work with their client, an F1 team based in Grove, Oxfordshire.
Job Purpose
- To control and co-ordinate the manufacture of components from release to manufacturing through until completion, to the agreed timescales.
- To engage and improve a finite capacity scheduling system and shop floor data collection software for several functions.
- To advise, forecast, and report where resource capacities are going to become overloaded and co-ordinate appropriate actions.
- To create manufacturing routes, including liaising with other people within the business to ensure effectiveness.
- To estimate operation times for manufacturing routes.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To liaise with customers in respect of required-by dates and quantities to ensure the most effective delivery performance for the business.
- To ensure that all scheduling for manufacture is kept up to date and that all relevant departments are kept informed of any changes.
- To ensure that all scheduling for manufacture is as effective as possible.
- When necessary, procure, control, and co-ordinate outside sub-contract or specialist resource.
- Keep scheduling and SFDC software up to date with effective routes and estimated times.
- Forecast where capacity constraints (or capacity opportunities) are and communicate and act upon potential shortfalls.
- Utilise tools such as resource scheduling software to provide accurate data to show the available capacity for the production resources.
- Maintain departmental databases and produce reports as require.
- Co-ordinate procurement of sub-contract work if necessary.
- Liaise and co-ordinate regularly with other departments and fellow Production Controllers and Engineers.
