We are searching for a dynamic Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Goleta, CA.

Responsibilities:

*

Exercise creative thinking for developing unique solutions to advance our core and new business areas

*

Develop hardware thru the full life-cycle, from concept through prototype, verification, test, system integration, and qualification

*

Be self directed as an individual contributor, work as a team member in an Integrated Product Development Team (IPT) environment, or lead a small technical team of scientist, engineers and technicians

*

Support multiple R&D projects through the design of automated precision mechanical equipment

*

Apply engineering knowledge and experience to developing concepts to solve complex problems

*

Work with equipment involving elements such as precision motion control, computers, data acquisition, position feedback, temperature control, etc.

*

Document and review designs with peers, management, and customers

Qualifications

Requirements:

*

Candidate must have an active DoD Security Clearance

*

Strong working knowledge of mechanical design analysis techniques and tools

*

Must be proficient using SolidWorks, or can demonstrate proficiency in a similar CAD program

*

Must be comfortable working in low volume manufacturing facilities & test laboratories

*

Prefer candidate to have systems engineering experience (writing specifications and sub-system design requirements, PDR, CDR, TRR preparation, etc.)

*

Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills

*

Excellent written and oral communications skills

*

Desirable if candidate has experience designing experiments and working with test equipment (National Instruments, LabView, Shaker Tables, Temperature Chambers, O-Scopes, etc.)

Education:

BS degree +5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field or,
MS degree +3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field
