Job Summary

The Government Systems Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Solutions Engineering organization is seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer to lead DO-254 certification for the Airborne PNT Certification team within the Airborne, Weapons, and Antenna Electronics Products Engineering department. The ideal candidate for this role embodies the Rockwell Collins Vision Roadmap, has the courage to take prudent risks, the grit to persevere through difficult challenges, and the foresight and wisdom to lead positive change throughout the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Due to substantial growth in the Airborne PNT market and an emerging requirement for airworthiness certification of military PNT equipment, we are standing up a new engineering team whose focus will be to ensure timely, cost effective, and successful airworthiness certification of our products. Products include the latest in SAASM GPS receiver technology for military platforms, the Digital GPS Anti-Jam Receiver (DIGAR), Radio Navigation products such as TACAN and VOR/ILS, and our future modernized (M-code) GPS products.

A PNT Airborne Certification Lead has the following primary responsibilities:

Become a DO-254 certification SME within the PNT Airborne department

Act as an advisor to Airborne PNT product Program Managers(PMs) for certification

*

Create and maintain a patient sense of urgency in a highly regulated environment

To be successful in this role the Airborne PNT Certification Lead must fulfill the responsibilities described above while ensuring that all decisions and behaviors are guided by the Rockwell Collins Vision Roadmap.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

* US Citizenship

* Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

* Must have product development experience on a team where the product was being certified to DO-254

Further, the following skills and attributes are necessary for consideration:

* A passion for learning and applying regulatory requirements to ensure quality, reliability, and safety for our end users while minimizing product development cost and time to market

* Detail oriented and very well organized

* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to address multiple audiences including peers, customers and customer leadership, Engineering leadership, Program Management, Marketing/Business Development, Operations, and technical staff at all skill levels from new hire to Technical Fellow.

* Experience in a highly regulated product development environment.

* Mentor product development teams in the utilization of the appropriate RC processes and tools during product development to ensure successful product certification.

* Product development experience with a product being certified to DO-254

* Foster a strong, collaborative working environment
