This position will entail development and support of embedded software for a variety of elevator system applications. Primary focus is support of software baseline for existing North American controller products.

Responsibilities:

* Portfolio Maintenance
* Develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of application software, control system architecture and elevator industry codes and standards.
* Maintain software test environment.
* Configure and validate software components.
* Release applications following Otis Software Process, including factory implementation coordination.

* Customer Support
* Address questions generated by field users.
* Investigate reported performance issues and provide resolution.
* Update documentation as necessary to provide clarification.
* Support field engineering personnel at job sites when necessary.

* New Feature Development
* Work as team member to define, clarify and document feature requirements.
* Plan and schedule new feature development tasks.
* Develop and test software to verify requirements compliance.

Education and Experience

Position Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in a related field; or

Master’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in a related field.

* Develop software using object oriented embedded languages such as C/C++.
* Experience with complete software development lifecycle process.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Experience with application of software diagnostic tools.
* Work independently with limited resources and minimal supervision.
* Adaptable to a rapidly changing environment.
* Multi-task in order to satisfy multiple customer requirements.
* Able to deliver quality product while satisfying strict delivery requirements.
* Possess strong business and technical communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years’ experience in a related field; or

Master’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in a related field.

* Elevator industry experience.
* Requirements verification tools such as DOORS.
* Real time operation systems such as ThreadX, VxWorks or Linux.
* Software revision control system experience.
* Embedded product development team leadership role.
