N2 is currently seeking an experienced FPGA/SoC Engineer. Image/signal processing is prevalent in these designs. The candidate is expected to design an FPGA or SoC from functional specification. As part of the design staff, the candidate will also have input on system level design. Duties will also include integration and testing of firmware, software and systems, as well as manufacturing support of the N2 product line.

Primary Responsibilities

* Design Electrical circuits and FPGA designs, based on specifications and/or general functional requirements, Develop codes in VHDL for Xilinx Vivado FPGA
* Circuit and component analysis (Simulation, modeling, etc.)
* Test support, including writing test procedures and designing test fixtures. System level test support may also be necessary
* Support formal design reviews and presentations to customers

Qualification: Required

* Must have US Persons status / green card acceptable
* Experience with ab initio FPGA design (starting from incomplete preliminary specifications)
* HDL coding & verification: VHDL for design and System Verilog for verification.
* Experience with Xilinx Vivado. Experience with Microsemi Libero is a plus.
* Experience with hardware bring up, including use of oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
* Experience writing engineering documentation, including specification, system design document and test plan
* Should be proficient in operating the simulation and modeling equipment including design tools
* Well acquainted with the basic characteristics of the digital design instruments
* Possess an expertise in the typical FPGA improvement platforms such as Actel Xilinx, Altera, etc.
* Knowledgeable about the high-speed DSP and I/O and integrated CPU
* Demonstrated experience preparing technical documentation
* Ability to manage time, multi-task and prioritize
* Planning skills and ability to execute plans in dynamic and rapidly changing circumstances
* Flexibility and willingness to deal with change and complexity is highly required
* Excellent communication (written/oral), interpersonal, mentorship and influencing skills
* Self-motivated and result-driven
* Customer focused and quality oriented
* The ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment

Desired Skills include:

* Experience with SoC design and development (e.g. Zynq or SmartFusion2)
* Ability to write basic software for SoC devices in C/C++
* Experience with self-checking test bench design

Education:
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 6+ years of experience, or M.S. and 3+ years of experience.
